This curry blogger (a financial journalist in real life) is changing day jobs, and a lovely co-worker named Nikki decided that a curry lunch in Midtown was a fitting way to mark this occasion.
We checked out Pure Thai Shophouse in nearby Hell’s Kitchen — and yum. What a nice way to conclude my last week on the job. We tried two dishes from the “wok stir-fried” menu: Wok-roasted Chili with Shrimp (pictured above) and Wok Curry Paste with Pork, made with kaffir lime curry. Each was flavorful and authentic. And the restaurant itself, with its chalkboards, wooden tables and fun water glasses, is more charming than most Thai joints on 9th…. I’ll definitely be back.
